The President’s “New” Mind

Much is being said about the Presidential debate of June 27th, 2024. Democrat pundits universally agreed that “it wasn’t a good night for Joe Biden.” Many even publicly called for Biden to consider stepping aside in favor of, well… anybody else – it was that bad. The media were collectively shocked by the “sudden” incompetence of our Commander in Chief (as were Biden aides, donors, and voters – at least those of the 81 million Biden voters who tuned in).

Post-debate, the Democrat Message Machine sounded more like your kid’s elementary school band – all squawks and squeaks – rather than its usual Boston Symphony Orchestra perfection. Heck, the New York Times got involved even while other Democrats had decided to circle the wagons for Joe once again after their 24-hour panic attack.

Why the lack of harmony from those on the left?

Han’s Christian Andersen’s classic tale, “The Emperor’s New Clothes,” provides insight. In the tale, a vain emperor and his ministers are duped by two swindlers posing as weavers. The “weavers” claim to create invisible fabrics that can only be seen by those who are fit for their positions. Fearing they will be deemed unfit and therefore lose their power, the emperor and his ministers pretend to see the clothes. The emperor parades through town in his "new clothes," until a child's honest outburst reveals he is wearing nothing at all, exposing the deceit.

Just as weavers deceive with their fabric, the mainstream media mirrors this deception with the present-day ministers - let’s call them the “Administrati.” Chief among the Administrati are members of the Biden administration, the Democrat Party, and, most regrettably, the Biden Family. To take the analogy further, the clothes symbolize Biden's cognitive capacity, or his mental state.

With the full support of the mainstream media, the Biden Administrati perpetuate and amplify the deceit, fearing exposure of their incompetence, malfeasance or both (Karine Jean-Pierre, Pete Buttigieg, Anthony Blinken, Merrick Garland, Alejandro Mayorkas, Christopher Wray come to mind). They practice willful deceit in policy and communication through various mechanisms, including accusations of misrepresenting facts (Biden did not open the border), manipulating information (inflation was worse under Trump), ignoring dissenting voices to present a unified but misleading narrative (Joe is as sharp as ever; there was no widespread fraud in the 2020 election), and lawfare (Trump is now a convicted felon for a non-crime and Jack Smith is still pressing his phony classified documents case; Peter Navarro and Stephen K Bannon are in jail on misdemeanor contempt of Congress charges for not testifying before an illegitimate January 6th Insurrection Committee because doing so would have violated executive privilege).

They do this all for power and the power is all for them.

The American public, like the child in the story, has now seen the truth about Biden's cognitive decline, a truth that the media and the Administrati have known for years. Any remnant of trust we may have had for these “weavers and ministers” has vanished, just like the emperor’s clothes and the President’s mind -- even a child can see it.

But will we remember the truth we saw? Will we act on it? That remains to be seen…
